Lewistown Elementary Library

I am so happy to be offering Library services to the students of the Lewistown Elementary School! I will be providing Library instruction to all grades in the building, as well as Computer instruction to kindergarten and first grade.

Our program of study for the library was created to enhance student learning based on the new ELA curriculum. The students will be making connections and applying academic skills taught in the classroom setting to projects and activities completed during Library instruction.

The main goals of the Library program are to make reading fun and to encourage students to want to question the world around them. They will discover the answers to their questions through the use of texts and online digital resources.

Parents/Guardians, please help your child remember to bring his or her book back to school and to help keep the book in the condition which it was received.  Most importantly, I ask that you sit down with your child and either listen to him or her read to you, or you read with your child.  This would contribute greatly to your child’s development of reading skills.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the school and ask for Mrs. Aurand, the Librarian.
